One Client’s Experience
When we announced to our Community Mental Health Group family that we would be starting a newsletter, we also asked if anyone had an experience with CMHG they’d like to share. Immediately a client reached out to volunteer. And as they choose to remain nameless, it is stories like this that keep our life coaches going and striving to help others through all their major life transitions as well as their day to day struggles. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for sharing.
“I reached out to the Community Mental Health Group in October after my grandmother passed. She effectively raised me and, after losing my father earlier in 2020 and losing my job the next day due to the pandemic, I knew that I could not handle this new level of grief I was experiencing alone. Taryn put me in contact with Mysty Higgins and she's honestly been amazing. A lot of pain and trauma that I buried had been rising to the surface and she gave me tools to acknowledge them and start to heal from them as well as giving me tools to start working on my anxiety and depression that were no longer under control. She's funny and insightful and calls me out on my defense mechanisms, then gives me perspective on where they came from and what I can do to resolve them. She's helped me through a significant amount of change as I've gone back to work, gone back to school, and started a new relationship while processing my grief, my C-PTSD, my depression, and my anxiety. I am so happy that I did the scary thing by reaching out to get help, doing so has changed me and my life for the better and I'm grateful to be in the process of getting better with her guidance.”
